Make Your Move is an effort from Missoula’s Intervention in Action Project, a group of community organizations dedicated to ending sexual violence. Its campaign’s goals are to: 1) Engage men and women as allies to prevent sexual violence by increasing awareness and education about the dynamics of sexual violence and 2) Encourage bystanders to foster healthy non-violent relationships and interrupt attitudes, language and actions that support sexual violence.
Reblogging this so hard
What an interesting release
It sort looks like he’s having an existential crisis mid-jump.
What’s going on here seems to be a youngster schooling wide fences/liverpools for the first time. So by wheelbarrowing the hands he’s keeping him straight and by dropping it low and keeping it soft he’s still allowing him to jump across the fences rather than up and over.
That shows some seriously good riding. You can just see how soft he is. My trainer is always talking about how you have to disconnect your body parts when working with young horses and this shows that perfectly - his leg is exactly where it should be, his body is still off the neck, but yet his hands are down low and not even touching the horse. This is a beautiful example of a rider working with a young, green or just unsure horse.
What was said above, widening the hands and you sorta funnel the horse to the jump so he doesn’t run out, and the same time, low hands you won’t be jerking on his mouth. Helpful for crosscountry.
